“I approached Forster straight from High School. Having heard from a school friend that they were a big company with a good reputation for training school leavers for professional positions, I felt that working for them would provide me with a great opportunity to start out my career.
My original role as a Purchasing Trainee involved working closely with and learning from the Purchasing Manager. Everybody was great and really helped me to settle in. I worked hard and after six months I was rewarded with promotion to Purchasing Assistant.
My role involves liaising with our suppliers to ensure we purchase materials for the best possible price and with the contracts management team and drivers to ensure on time delivery to over 90 Forster sites across Scotland every week.
I’m really enjoying my time here, the company are really keen to help you develop and in just over a year I’ve benefited from on-line learning courses and a product knowledge training day from a key supplier.”
