Scope of Works:
Re-Slating of existing Castle
Situated in Clackmannanshire, Manor Kingdom have created an excellent development of new build housing and conversion apartments within an existing castle.
The castle is an imposing building with varying split level roofs and nine conical turrets. Forster undertook the slating work, which consisted of stripping, salvaging and maximising the re-use of existing Scotch Slates. Cupa Heavy 3 slates were approved to make up any shortfalls in various sizes to complement the Scotch Slate.
The roof was also brought up to conform to current ventilation standards utilising Breather Membranes and In-Line Slate Vent Terminals.
On site the removal, storage and re-selection of existing slate proved challenging, as did the configuration of scaffolding to allow safe access to elevations and in particular the conical turrets.
